About

A creative, motivated and versatile designer with a passion for textiles. My background in Fine Art has given me a love of detail and craftsmanship, while allowing me to gain proficiency in both digital and physical mediums. This has given me an edge in my career where I am able to produce both digital graphics for screen print, and hand drawn/painted designs for digital print. Working in design has allowed me to develop a keen eye for what works in commercially, while still bringing an artistic flair to my work. My own practice aims to explore themes of Ireland’s botanical heritage through the juxtaposition of tactile specimens in cloth, with Irish folklore and mythology. Through this I invite the viewer to discover another side to Irish forestry, forgotten through time. My practice is multidisciplinary, consisting of illustration, paint, sculpture, surface design, as well as both hand and machine embroidery. Making has always been an immeasurably important part of my life since childhood, being immersed in what I am doing puts my mind completely at ease. I enjoy bringing new life to old things. I feel it gives my work a deeper narrative or authenticity.
